Tribesongs of the Zakchin
Recordings with the mongolian singer Otgonbayar Chuluunbaatar

Original songs of the Zakchin in Westmongolia

The singer Otgonbayar with her husband Harald Korb on the horse-tracks in the native country region of the Zakhchin.
Otgonbayar Chuluunbaatar belongs to the Zakhchin tribe, an ethnic minority with a population of 25.000 people, who speak their own dialect and keep their traditions alive up to today.
An important part of Zakhchin culture is their music.
The songs are sung vocally only or accompanied by the "tobshuur" or guitar played by Wolfgang Hofer.
Despite this unusual accompaniment of the guitar, Otgonbayar's recordings encountered her fellow countrymen's appreciation during her next visit to Mongolia.
After "Songs of the Zakhchin People in Western Mongolia" and "Zast Altai" this recording is now the 3rd CD of this project.
